This project for UBS, the Swiss-based financial services group, saw 7,000 people from several London locations, consolidated into one steel-sheathed ‘groundscraper’ office. Featuring four huge trading floors covering 65,000ft2, the fit-out had to take into consideration not only the miles of cabling, but also the cooling systems required, for coping with 3,000 traders and their multi-screen data arrays.
LDW carried out comprehensive 3D BIM design to facilitate the close attention to detail required on this 720,000ft2 scheme, ensuring that all the necessary M&E for such an immense financial engine was taken into account.
We completed work on all the specialist floors, as well as column casings on the general back office support areas for the 2,400 management and support workers. These included training, teleconferencing & meeting rooms, auditoria and conferencing facilities with high acoustic requirements, a restaurant and a gymnasium. In addition, a suite of client facing areas featured further meetings rooms and hospitality suites.
This highly complex building is energy efficient with a BREEAM Excellent rating and we ensured that for our part, all materials and working practices complied with best sustainable practice.
